Course participants will receive education in arterial ulcers, venous insufficiency, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, pressure injuries, and atypical ulcers. Students will gain knowledge of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), and other advanced wound care modalities. Prevention is a primary topic, including protecting patients from nosocomial wounds, and prevention of recurrence in non-pressure ulcer patients. Participants will learn how to choose appropriate topical therapies, and when and how to modify a plan of care. Documentation is key, and participants will learn important nomenclature rules, to aid in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) efforts.
Our Hyperbaric Medicine course covers the full core-content, as specified by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, preparing providers for a career in this rewarding specialty. The course is very clinically focused, ensuring that participants learn not simply the theoretical underpinnings of HBOT, but practical management knowledge, and an understanding of treatment guidelines, and clinical documentation principles. Participants will become familiar with commonly encountered challenges, and evidence-based responses. Moreover, a real-world framework for case management is presented, to help course graduates be able to optimize treatment decisions and prevent improper treatment denials by third party payers
